LAMB and CALF DAY Nov 7 2014
As soaking as it was underfoot, it was brilliant overhead for our Lamb and Calf day yesterday. Great effort kids and parents for rearing those pets and getting them along today and parents, grandparents and friends were here in droves - how fortunate we are to have such amazing support! Over 90 lambs and 16 calves. (Too wet for Young Farmer comp so watch this space - we'll hold that in a couple of weeks!) A big ups to MISS GREY for her organising of the Lamb/Calf section and to MRS HATFULL for the indoor exhibits. Results... ... More Information »

Year 7/8 EPro8 team are REGIONAL WINNERS!
This Hunterville School team took out the Yr 7/8 division of the EPro8 regional final in Palmerston North mid last week, from a finals pool of ten teams. This was certainly no fluke as they had won their semi final two weeks earlier ahead of eleven other teams in their semi. The regional competition involved 58 teams from schools from the Southern Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Horowhenua, Rangitikei and Wanganui. EPro8 represents “Engineer, Problem Solve, Innovate” and involves teams of four racing against the clock and the other teams, using their creativity to build structures and devices to perform a series of set tasks. The EPro8 equipment provided includes lengths of box aluminium, nuts and bolts, batteries, cogs, pulleys, chains, wheels, motors, and electronic switches / alarms, etc! Pictured from left: Zoe Nydegger-Monks, Hine Marino-Maangi, Alec Murray and Harry Cherrie... More Information »
