LAMB and CALF DAY a BIG SUCCESS

Yesterday's Lamb and Calf Day went off a treat! With 90 lambs/calves entered, plus all the wonderful indoor exhibits, plus the Young Farmer novelty event, plus magnificent weather, the scene was set for a top day - and it was! CROWNED TOUGHEST SCHOOL AGAIN!!

Congratulations to our large team at the TOUGH KIDS competition at Ohingaiti today - we were again crowned the toughest school! With around 30 schools competing and 1000 competitors, this was no mean feat. Pictured here are Ben Black and Tineisha McDougall on their way (along with Emma Vennell and Ethan Watson) to second in the teams event. Earlier in the day our star performers were GEORGE LAMBERT (Yr 7/8 boys champion) and SAVANNAH McDOUGALL (Yr 3/4 girls' champion).

Hunterville Consolidated School opened on 28th September 1887 with a roll of 40 pupils. A secondary department was established at the school in 1912 and this operated until 1929 ...
