What's On Top

A big welcome to new teacher aide Mrs Dale Turner, appointed to replace Mrs Rush who has finished up due to ill health after eighteen years of excellent service.

We have an ANZAC service at school on Friday 24 April at 2pm, in front of our junior rooms. All welcome.

The town ANZAC dawn parade is at 5.45am on Saturday, with the school being part of the parade and service. As many students as would like to are welcome to join us, in school uniform, in front of the Hunterville Bookshop on Saturday morning. Our Head Girl and Boy Phoebe Smailes and Bailey Ansley will be the guest speakers at the service.

A large crowd turned out for the town's Anzac Day dawn parade and service this morning. Our school was privileged to be asked to give the main address. Head Girl PHOEBE SMAILES and Head Boy BAILEY ANSLEY did us very proud with their addresses. Pictured here is Bailey giving his address with Hunterville RSA president Mrs Maureen Fenton alongside. (This photograph taken by 2015 school photographer Letischa-Raye Johnson-Tipu. For more of Letischa-Rayes photos from this morning's service please click on the Gallery link above.)

Hunterville Town Library Moves to School
The weather was not kind to us today and we were unable to go ahead with getting the whole school out to be part of a human chain to move all the books from the Town Hall to school. Instead though, a good number of community members supported by parents and senior students moved the books out of the town hall and up to school by car amongst the light drizzle that was about for most of the day. Pictured here is the finale of the official opening ceremony held in the school hall. MRS JEAN ENGLAND with over 30 years of outstanding service and leadership of the town library holds an end of the ribbon along with our youngest student HAWAIIKI TATTERSALL-WALKER, as Rangitikei Mayor Andy Watson prepares to cut the ribbon and declare the new facility open.
