LAMB and CALF DAY - 90 Lambs/Calves on Show!
A highly successful Lamb and Calf Day was held today despite the threat of rain which held off just long enough to have all the judging completed and the grand parade and prizegiving held! Congratulations to students who showed their lamb or calf today for all the work and effort in tending to your pet over the past few months, and also to everyone for the creativity and quality of the indoor exhibits. Our thanks to all the judges and stewards, both inside and outside, for all the great work and to our major sponsors the ANZ Bank represented today by Mr Mike Russell a long term supporter of this event. Thank you to staff members for all their behind the scenes efforts and particularly to Mrs Brenda Stewart for her pre organisation and to Mrs Colleen Dalley for her excellent running of the event today. Interschool Cross Country at Hunterville
A feature of today's interschool cross country event hosted by us was the very first race - the junior girls (Year 4/5) event. In a repeat of the school event just two days earlier JADE GUINIVEN held off EDEN GOODWIN (mostly obscured in this photo) by the very narrowest of margins, with daylight back to third. Our best result from the remaining races was the outstanding second placing to GEORGE LAMBERT as a Year 6, in the Year6/7 boys' race. The best 350 runners from close to thirty schools participated.

Hunterville Consolidated School opened on 28th September 1887 with a roll of 40 pupils. A secondary department was established at the school in 1912 and this operated until 1929 ...
