Year 7/8 EPro8 team are REGIONAL WINNERS!
This Hunterville School team took out the Yr 7/8 division of the EPro8 regional final in Palmerston North mid last week, from a finals pool of ten teams. This was certainly no fluke as they had won their semi final two weeks earlier ahead of eleven other teams in their semi. The regional competition involved 58 teams from schools from the Southern Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Horowhenua, Rangitikei and Wanganui. EPro8 represents “Engineer, Problem Solve, Innovate” and involves teams of four racing against the clock and the other teams, using their creativity to build structures and devices to perform a series of set tasks. The EPro8 equipment provided includes lengths of box aluminium, nuts and bolts, batteries, cogs, pulleys, chains, wheels, motors, and electronic switches / alarms, etc!
