As usual proceedings will begin with an assembly in the hall at 9am where classes for the year will be announced.

Mrs Fitz-Herbert Farewelled at Prizegiving
At prizegiving last night teacher Mrs Gaylene Fitz-Herbert was farewelled by BOT chairman James Kilmister, following two stints at Hunterville School covering 32 years, going back to 1978. Also farwelled was teacher Mr George Jeffrey after 5 1/2 years service. The major award at prizegiving went to BAILEY ANSLEY who took out the Forrest Award for Best All Round Pupil. Whole School Marae Trip
The school had a great day at the Rata Marae today. We were welcomed on at 10am and then after morning tea students rotated around three of ten activities. A superbly cooked hangi lunch was served and the day finished with a performance from our kapa haka group and then a sharing time regarding the ten activities. We are most grateful to the Rata Marae committee for hosting us and to all the parents and community members that helped out and supported us on the day. These growing lads certainly enjoyed the hangi food!

Hunterville Consolidated School opened on 28th September 1887 with a roll of 40 pupils. A secondary department was established at the school in 1912 and this operated until 1929 ...
